The certificate is required to purchase a license to trap furbearing animals in Québec.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE
The aim of this training module is to train safe, responsible and efficient trappers. It advocates the sustainable use of the wildlife resource.

TWO TYPES OF TRAINING:
To successfully complete the module and to obtain a trapper's certificate, you can follow the type of training of your choice (at the same price of $180):

Training with an instructor (in french only) Training at home (french or english)
Given by an experienced instructor
Learning at your own pace with the manual and training video
2 training sessions per region per year (may and august) 4 exam sessions per region per year (february, may, august and november)
2 days (16 hours) of comprehensive training :

•1st day: learning in the field (demonstrations and practical exercices)
•2nd day: classroom instruction
Possibility of taking training with an instructor (in french) within the year following the registration

WRITTEN EXAM (must be completed within the year following the registration).

• It contains 50 multiple-choice questions;
• The exam session lasts a maximum of 60 minutes;
• The passing grade is set at 60%.

HOW TO REGISTER? FOUR POSSIBLE WAYS

1 - You can register with the Fédération des Trappeurs Gestionnaires du Québec (FTGQ) by providing your complete contact information or by completing the registration form (If you don't have Acrobat Reader to download the document, you can also use this form: registration form) and by appending a certified cheque or a postal money order in the amount of 180 $*, made out to the Fédération des Trappeurs Gestionnaires du Québec (FTGQ) at the following address:

2 - You can transfer your payment through BMO, Banque of Montreal. To do so, contact us to obtain our banking informations. Go to a BMO service point and make a deposit at the counter, for the ammount of 182$ (180$ plus 2$ of administration fees) be sure to mention to the clerk to add your name in the transaction's comment. Send us, by e-mail or by fax, at 418 872-6131, the registration form, mentioning that you have made your payment through BMO, and by joining a copy of the deposit's receipt. Finally, once the payment will be received, we will send you your material through Dicom Express.

3 - You can make your payment through Accès D, Caisses Populaires Desjardins. To do so, contact us to obtain our banking information. Go to a Caisses Populaires Desjardins service point and make a deposit at the counter, be sure to mention to the clerk to add your name in the transaction's comment, or make a transfer between people through Accès D, for the ammount of 182$ (180$ plus 2$ of administration fees). Send us, by e-mail or by fax, at 418 872-6131, the registration form, mentioning that you have made your payment through Accès D, and by joining a copy of the deposit's receipt. Finally, once the payment will be received, we will send you your material through Dicom Express.

4 - You can pickup and pay your material directly at the FTGQ, between 8h30 AM - 12h00 PM and 1h00 PM - 4H30 PM. Where you can make your inscription and pay your registration fee, by check or cash, and finally leave with everything you need for your formation.

Following payment of the registration fee, you will receive the training manual and videocassettes (or DVD) as well as your first FTGQ membership card.
